Course Tour
The Rockaway Hunting Club 18 Hole championship Golf Course measures 6,452 yards. It was constructed in 1900 by T. Bendelow, golf course architect, and was redesigned by Albert T. Tillinghast in the mid-1920s. In traditional Scottish Links design the course is relatively flat with 5 natural water holes. Shifting winds make club selection difficult and shot-making accuracy is of greater importance then length. The par 4, 454 yard 9th hole is regarded as one of the 100 best golf holes in America. The amateur course record of 64 was established in 1991 by the former Men’s Champion, Norman H. Chapman.
